Packing Joy for the Holidays
One tradition stands out for me this time of
year...packing my suitcase.
For as long as I can remember I've spent
Christmas away from home. I'm usually flying to visit my parents, or in recent
years alternately visiting my in-laws, so packing my suitcase and getting on an
airplane is part of my holiday tradition this time of year. It is a
long-established tradition. It's been almost 20 years since I was in college,
and the tradition was already in place back then. I think I have to go back to
high school years to find a time when I woke up in my own bed on Christmas
morning.
Holiday traditions are nice,
providing context and memories and comparisons to past years. Hope you enjoy
your traditions this holiday season. And pack well. I know I will, even better
this year than last. ;-)
