Goodbye Maynard


Jazz trumpet great Maynard Ferguson passed away recently.

In my section of the band Maynard was known simply by his first name. We all wanted the range of Maynard, or more realistically a fraction of the range in which he made that trumpet squeal. Ok, we'd have settled for just being able to hit that high C reliably. Thanks for the great tunes, and the inspiration, boss.
